The manuscript is composed of a text whose the palm leaves are numbered from 1 to 205; leaves 219 to 221 are missing and the leaves numbered 88 and 89 are double. The manuscript is in excellent condition.
The text deals with formulations of medicines. Those which are described are:
Decoctions: Mūtaṇṭa kaṣāyam, Iḷanīr kaṣāyam, Veḷḷeli kaṣāyam, Kōḻi kaṣāyam, Cīṉappa kaṣāyam and Tirāṭcāti kaṣāyam, as well as decoctions for treating fever (curam), poison (viṣam), dysentery (kaḻiccal), stomach pain (vayiṟu kaṭuppu), air (vāyu) and eczema (karappāṉ);
Dried plant powders: Cukkāti curaṇam, Tiripalāti curaṇam, Civātai curaṇam, Tāḷicapattiri curaṇam, Tirāṭcāti curaṇam, Elāti curaṇam, Iñci curaṇam, Piraṇṭai curaṇam, Mataṉa kāmēsvara curaṇam, Cantaṉāti curaṇam, Carvāṅka curaṇam, Cīraka curaṇam, Acuvakantāti curaṇam, Kaṟpūrāti curaṇam, Vayampāti curaṇam, Aṭṭa curaṇam, Kaṟiyuppu curaṇam, Uṭumpu curaṇam, Ayamāṅkica curaṇam, Muttuppuṟā curaṇam, Nilavākai curaṇam, Tēṅkāy curaṇam, Karicālai curaṇam, Maṇṭūrai curaṇam, Viṭaiyāti curaṇam, Kapāṭa curaṇam, Mātaḷāti curaṇam, Liṅkāti curaṇam, Karantai curaṇam, Koṭuvēli curaṇam, Paṭṭai curaṇam and Kukkilāti curaṇam; Vilvāti poṭi, Tirāṭcāti poṭi, Amirtāti kaili poṭi, Irumalukku poṭi and Kukkuṭāti poṭi, as well as a medicated powder made with hen, Kukkuṭa pāvu;
Medicated oils: Vēḷi eṇṇey, Uḷḷi āmaṇakku eṇṇey, Cūla eṇṇey, Cittapalāti eṇṇey, Cantaṉāti eṇṇey, Elāti eṇṇey, Carvāṅka eṇṇey, Naṉṉāri eṇṇey, Arakku mōr eṇṇey, Veṟukka eṇṇey and Komparakku eṇṇey; Añca eṇṇey tailam; Veḷḷuḷḷi tailam, Aṇṭa vāraṇa tailam, Tirumēṉi tailam, Mūkkūṭṭu tailam, Carvāṅka tailam, Navakaṇṭa tailam, Iḷampiḷḷai vāta tailam, Kōḻi tailam, Nimpāti tailam, Āvārampaṭṭai tailam and Mūtaṇṭa tailam; as well as medicated oils for treating fits (piraḷi), urinary tract infection (mēkam), enlargement of lymph nodes in groin region (araiyāppu), deaf (cevi mantam), pitta diseases, insanity (paittiyam), pricking pain in head (maṇṭaikuttu), sinusitis (pīṉicam), diseases of head (ciranōy), skin diseases (kuṭṭam), anemia (cōkai), eczema(karappāṉ) and wounds (Puṇ).
Medicated ghī: Amirtāti kiṟutam, Kataḷi kiṟutam, Kūḻppāṇṭa kiṟutam, Campu kiṟutam, Makāmēka kiṟutam, Vēmpu kiṟutam and Kamalāti kiṟutam; Aṇil ney, Tūtaḷāti ney, Kukkuṭāti ney, Attippaṭṭai ney, Kaṇṭam kattiri ney, Aṇil ney, Vallārai ney, Tuḷaci ney, Naṇṭu ney, Cukku ney, Nellikkāy ney, Tippili ney, Cantaṉāti ney, Veḷvēl ney, Uḷḷi ney, Viraṇi ney, Nāyuruvi ney as well as ney for treating dystrophy caused by rickets (kaṇai), a type of eczema (ceṅkarappāṉ), a type of skin disease caused by fungus generally called as ringworm infection (paṭar tāmarai);

Medicines obtained from sublimation: Paṭṭai pataṅkam;
Calcinated white medicines based on metals and minerals: Raca paṟpam
Calcinated red medicines based on metals and minerals: Tāḷaka centūram; Pūraṇa cantirōtayam; and Nīlakaṇṭa racam.
Apart tailam, the text describes numerous external medicines, often with their medical indications:
Roasted powder: Kirāṇiku vaṟuppu, Kaṇṭūcam;
Baked powders or fresh leaves for reducing thirsty (tākam) and fever (curam), and treating anemia (cōkai) and bronchial asthma (iḻaipirumal);
Medicated fumes (pukai) for treating colic pain (cūlai), skin diseases (kuṭṭam and paraṅki), hemorrhoids (mūlam taḷḷaḷ), delirium (caṉṉi), lack of energy (kuḷir) and hiccup (vikal);
Medicated wicks (tiri) for treating migraine (oruttalaivali), bronchial asthma (iḻaippirumal) and headache (maṇṭaicūlai);
Fomentation (oṟṟal) for treating headache (maṇṭai vali);
Fomentation (kiḻi; bags containing hot plants fried in medicated oil which are applied on the body) for vāta disease; another sort, called snēka poṭṭaṇam, is mentioned without its medical usage;
Oil, dry powder or ointment (puccu) for skin diseases (kuṭṭam; tēmal), flatus (āntiram), poison bite (kaṭiviṣam), and enlargement of lymph node in groin region (araiyāppu);
Application using rubbing and churning movements (mattippu) for chest diseases (neñcil pōṭa), heaviness of head (talai kaṉam) and urinary tract infections (kiricam);
Nasal snuff for delirium (caṉṉikku tūḷ) and diseases of head (ciranōykku ākirāṇam);
Nasal drops for sinusitis (pīṉicam) and convulsions (vali);
Medicine applied on the whole body including scalp (kiricattukku tuvālai).
The method of purifying (cutti) raw material used to prepare some of above medicines is also exposed.
The text informs also on medicines for treating specific troubles such as burns (tīppaṭṭa puṇ), bites by wolf (narikaṭi), ringworm infection (paṭar tāmarai), teeth disease (tenta nōy), fits (piraḷi) and menorrahagia (perumpāṭukku kali).
Dietary prescriptions are also provided by this text (pattiyam), notably types of porridge for reducing inflammation (vīkkam), fever (curam) and thirsty (tākam).
Size of the manuscript 45,0cm x 3,8cm. The palm leaves of the text are numbered in Tamil and Arabic from 1 to 250; the leaves 188, 189, 219, 220 and 221 are missing and there two leaves numbered 88 and 89. The manuscript is in excellent state.
