The manuscript is composed of a text which contains palm leaves numbered from 1 to 45; the leaf 9 is missing. The manuscript is in excellent state.
The text, entitled Nālu Kāṇṭa Vaittiyam was written in verses by Taṭciṇāmūrtti. It contains only the first chapter (mutal kāṇṭam) which approaches mostly formulations of medicines for which the raw materials (kaṭai carakkukaḷ) and the diseases they treat are specified:
Medicated oils: Mūla viṣa tailam; Vacaveṇṇey, as well as eṇṇey (not specified) for treating fever (curam) and urinary tract infection (mēkam).
Dry plant powders: Utaiyāti cūraṇam and Villai pū cūraṇam.
Electuaries: Caṭāṭcara lēkiyam and civalōka lēkiyam; Rāmapāṇa iṭi vallāti, as well as a lēkiyam for treating poisonous substance (viṣam).
Pills: Caruvāṅka māttirai, Raca māttirai and Cañcīvi māttirai; Ciṟiya cantaṉāti kuḷikai and Aṉutāra kuḷikai.
Wax-like medicine: Akattiyar kuḻampu and Pēti kuḻampu.
Calcined red medicine prepared from metals and minerals: Cavvīra centūram, Cātiliṅka centūram, Pūlōka centūram, Kailāca centūram, Navalōka centūram, Pittaḷai centūram and Raca vaṅka centūram.
Calcined white medicine prepared from metals and minerals: Taṅka paṟpam and Tāḷaka paṟpam,
Stone-like medicines: Turicu kaṭṭu
Ointment (external): Piṟa mūla kaḷimpu as well as a kaḷimpu for healing wounds (puṇ).
Medicines (not named; maruntu) for treating fever (curam), deep wound (puṇ purai), anemia (cōkai), poison (nañcu), enlargement of lymph node in inguinal region (araiyāppu) and in neck (kaṇṭamālai), eye diseases (kaṇ nōy), colic pain (veṭi cūlai), piles (mūlam), diabetes mellitus (nīriḻivu) and delirium (caṉṉi).
The text provides additionally some information on embryology (piṇṭa uṟpatti) and also on the method to worship properly Murukaṉ (Cuppiramaṇiyar tiyāṉam).
Size of the manuscript 34,2cm x 3,9cm. The palm leaves of the text are numbered from 1 to 45 in Tamil and Arabic; the leaf 9 is missing. The manuscript is in excellent state.
