ff. 1-25. Hymns in Latin, composed by Edward Elgar.
(1). f. 1. 'Kyrie eleison', in A major, for SATB voices. No date, but in the composer's early handwriting and thought to have been written when Elgar was a child. Former references: MS132; 2000.018, from the collection of Wulstan Atkins.
(2). ff. 2-6. ‘Salve Regina’, for two sopranos, tenor and bass. Dated ‘-10-76’. Score in ink. Former references: MS93(1); 1999.011.1.
(3). ff. 7-17. ‘Tantum ergo’, for soprano, alto, tenor and bass. Dated ‘27-11-76’. Score in ink, together with a photocopy of the same (ff. 10-16). Former references: MS93(2); 1999.011.2.
(4). ff. 18-20. ‘Kyrie eleison’, for soprano, tenor and bass, unaccompanied. Score in black ink, with cues for an organ part in red ink. Undated but on the same paper and in the same hand as (2) and (3) above. Former references: MS94; 1999.012.
(5). ff. 21-22. ‘O Salutaris’, for voice and keyboard instrument, in G major. Score in ink with text and some alterations added in pencil. Folio 14v contains short sketches and writing in the Greek alphabet. Former references: MS75; 1977.708.2.
(6). ff. 23-25. ‘Stabat Mater’, in short score for four voices, but without the text. Two copies, dated at the top of the first 'Mar. 1886'. Former references: MS58(2); 1977.638.2.
