(1). ff. 1-5. Score, in landscape format. A note in a different hand on the first page reads: ‘In August 1882? Elgar produced and conducted his ‘Air de Ballet’ at the soirée of the British Medical Association at the Worcester Shire Hall’. Former references: MS68; 1977.696.2.
(2). ff. 6-9. Two instrumental parts, for clarinet and for cello and bass (‘principal’). Together with a torn half sheet containing pencil sketches identified as relating to The Dream of Gerontius, annotated ‘C.V.S.’ and dated ‘Foli Sep 18 1896. Former references: MS67; 1977.696.1.
(3). ff. 10-16. Instrumental parts for violin I (‘principal’, including cues for other instruments in red ink on a separate stave), violin II, viola, basso and piano obbligato. Former references: MS76; 1977.708.3.
