The volume records baptisms of children born to enslaved mothers after the passage of the Free Womb Law registered in the Church of Nossa Sehora da Conceição de Cordeiros, São Gonçalo-RJ. Entries date from 22 Oct 1871 to 08 Dec 1888. The opening charter was signed by Joaquim Mattoso on 1 May 1872, while the closing charter was signed by Abilio(?) Real Martins, Secretary of the Bishopric, on 11 Feb 1958. The entries were signed by the following clergy: Vicar Galdino Xavier (X.e) da Silva (S.a) Malafaia and Vicar Francisco Soares da Silva Bruno.
