The volume records baptisms of enslaved people registered in the Church of Santo Antônio de Sá, Itaboraí-RJ between 29 Nov 1763 and 25 Jun 1807. There is no opening charter; the closing charter was signed on 12 Jun 176(?). The volume includes baptisms of adults as well as of slaves belonging to Lieutenant Salvador de Britto, Captain Joaquim de Souza Rodrigues, and Captain Antonio José Coelho. An index begins on folio 246. The volume records a pastoral visit on 02 Dec 1786. Blank folios 273-295 and 243-245 were not photographed. African ethnonyms mentioned: Rebola, Benguela, Guiné, Congo, Angola. Entries were signed by the following clergy: Coadjutor Ignácio José de Oliveira, Caetano da Costa (?), Francisco da Silva, José (?) Bravo, Manoel José de (?), Antonio Pereyra Jorge de Sevilla, Francisco Pereira de Azevedo, Antonio Leodoro Avila (?), and Francisco (?) de Azevedo.
Physical characteristics: The volume is comprised of 299 numbered folios that have been severely damaged by insects with a cover. Dimensions : 36cm X 26cm.
