The volume contains baptismal records of enslaved and free people registered in the Church of São Sebastião, Araruama-RJ. Entries date from 07 Jan 1872 to 09 Aug 1874. There is no opening charter; the undated closing charter was signed by Vicar José Fonseca dos Santos. Entries were signed by José Fonseca dos Santos. Skin color of the individual baptized is recorded underneath the name. There is a record of a pastoral visit realized by the Bishop of Petrópolis, Dom Francisco, on 20 Jul 1898.
