Elgar Birthplace Collection: Collection of various sketches

Various sketch material that was kept as a group at the Birthplace Museum with sheets numbered 1 to 26. Those that have been identified include:
- Sheet 1: ‘Merry-Go-Round’. Identified as being pages 122-123 from 'Sketchbook VIII', now Add MS 63160.
- Sheet 2: ‘The Brook’, here also annotated as being: ‘American pieces for Horatio Parker’.
- Sheet 3: ‘The Windlass’
- Sheet 4: a setting of part of Longfellow’s King Olaf, from ‘In the convent Drotheim’, but not a passage set by Elgar in Scenes from King Olaf, op. 30. Pages numbered '3' and '4'.
- Sheet 6: ‘Laudate Dominum’, dated ‘July 29 1888’
- Sheet 10: ‘Kyrie’ for voice and organ, opening only.
- Sheet 14: 'Alle[gro] Moderato' in A minor, on two staves.
- Sheet 23: Four bars identified as being from Callicles.
Other works potentially represented in fragmentary sketches include: Air de ballet; O salutaris; Panache for the coronation; Concerto for Violin and Orchestra.
