(1). Bound volume containing published violin studies by Henry Schradieck and Pierre Baillot (the latter signed and lightly annotated by Elgar), together with a published edition of J.S. Bach's sonatas for solo violin by Joseph Hellmesberger. At the back of the volume ten pages of blank manuscript paper have been bound in, the first and last of which have pencil sketches for violin exercises in Elgar's hand.Former references: MS121; 1999.111.
(2). Bound volume of published exercises and studies for solo violin by Rudolphe Kreutzer (sporadically annotated with fingerings and dynamics). At the back of the volume 20 pages of manuscript paper have been bound in, containing fair copies and sketches for further exercises by Elgar as well as a complete study for solo violin copied out in another hand. Former references: MS120; 1999.110.
(3). Bound volume containing published studies and caprices for solo violin by Prume, Beriot, Rode, Hauser, Vieuxtemps, Lipinski and Paganini. Containing a very small number of pencil annotations and signed by Elgar at the front. At the back of the volume is an autograph manuscript of a solo etude by Elgar, from his Etudes caractéristiques, op. 24, signed and dated by Elgar, 'Mar 23 1897'.
(4). ff. 1-8. Piano accompaniments by Elgar for Rudolphe Kreutzer's studies for solo violin numbers 2, 8 and 13. Former references: MS88; 1977.725.
