The volume contains cases brought before the Acting Police Magistrate at the Police Court at Freetown between 27 April and 11 May 1860. The first part of the volume contain an index that lists cases by the names of the defendant and provides the page number. Information provided on cases includes the date, the names of the plaintiff and the defendant, and a short title relating to the case. Information is sometimes provided on the oath taken by the constable, the plaintiff, the defendant, and witnesses. The volume also includes information on sentencing. The volume is tightly bound in blue cloth boards. There is extensive water damage. Tape has been used to repair some torn pages, and there is some evidence of mould.
