The volume contains cases brought before the Manager of the Eastern District in the Police Court at Waterloo between 11 August 1891 and 29 December 1892. It includes an index that lists the cases by name of defendant, and gives the charge and the page number in the volume. For cases that were not dismissed, the document sometimes includes the statements of the plaintiff and the defendant statements, as well as some witness statements and a statement by the court. It also includes information on the sentence given. In some cases, information is added on how much of the fine has been paid. The cover and the spine are damaged, and there are some traces of damage from iron gall.
