MS Mus. 1848/1/10

A collection of manuscript works, grouped prior to entry into the Library, including:

(1) Birds Practise Songs in Dreams; 27 Oct 2000-10 Nov 2002. Programme note, sketches, annotated Sibelius printout drafts, and newspaper/magazine articles about the subject matter which inspired the work.

(2) Three Songs (Christina Rossetti); 16 Feb 2003. Ideas, sketches, pitch-sets, and a copied printout of a February 2003 version which includes a programme note and annotated libretto.

(3) Infida's Song; 18 Apr 2004. Chester Music pre-proof printed copy, with autograph ideas, sketches and pitch-sets.

(4) Lullaby; 8 Jan 2006. Ideas, sketches, an annotated late draft, and an autograph fair copy reduction. "The work was originally written for an anthology proposed by Giles Swayne which did not come to fruition. Later published by Music Sales." (Elias's description, from work lists in MS Mus. 1848/1/12.)

(5) Three Scherzi; 4 Sep 2007. Pitch-sets, sketches and Sibelius drafts (printouts with annotations) including draft violin parts annotated by David Alberman.

(6) Impromptu; 13 Mar 2009. Small amount of sketches/notes, and one annotated draft (Sibelius score printout).

Originally, the manuscript material for A Talisman was also in this group of works, but needed to be removed for packaging reasons. See MS Mus. 1848/1/11 for that material.
