Opening of a treatise on making arithmetical calculations by means of a dust board (takht) and the so-called 'dust numbers' (ḥurūf al-ghubār, see f. 114r, line 14). The text is a précis of the author's own Kashf maʿānī al-jilbāb ʿan ʿilm al-ḥisāb, (اقتطفتها من كتابي المسمي بكشف معاني الجلباب عن علم الحساب, see f. 114r, lines 12-13).
The full text consists of an introduction, four parts (أجزاء) of eight sections (أبواب) each, and a conclusion; the present copy extends only to the sixth section of the first part on whole integers (العدد الصحيح, see f. 114v, line 7).
The text is followed by a page of prayers (f. 120v).
