One page woodblock illustration taken from...Wylie: chos kyi rgyal po nor bu bzang po'i rnam thar phyogs bsgrigs byas pa thos chung yid kyi dga' ston zhis bu ba bzhugs so. The exemplary biography of Dharma King Norsang. The text itself was not digitised. This is a single woodblock printed illustration from the text, a page mounted on modern paper with sellotape. One folio only, taken from a long but incomplete woodblock printed text, wrapped in yellow cloth, telling the story of Dharma King Norsang (Wylie Chos rgyal nor bzang or Chos rgyal norbu bzang po). The woodblock printed text is identical to that digitised in Kathmandu (EAP1016_KTM_TS_Txt-2) and another text in the same collection at Dolma Ling. Neither of the these two Norsang texts at Dolma Ling were digitised, because of incompleteness, repetition, and also because of restraints on time and access. The text is printed on handmade paper with slight variations of size and shape. It is in generally good condition throughout, although the top and bottom pages of the manuscript are worn. Text pages 26 cm x 7.25 cm . Creation dates: Early to mid 20th Century. 70-120 years.
Custodial history: A text donated to Dolma Ling nunnery by Buchen Gyurme. It probably belonged to one of three Lama Manipa who had fled from Tibet and who continued to perform wihtin the exile Tibetan communities in India and Nepal. These manipa were Buchen Gyurme (Wylie ’Gyur med), Buchen Norgye (Wylie Nor rgyas), and Buchen Passang (Wylie Pa sangs) Specifics of the actual previous ownership unknown.
Extent and format of original material: One text.
