- documents relating to de Coëtlogon's military promotions during and following his service in the Sudan, including his appointment as Kaimakarn, Qaim-Maqam (Governor General) of Sudan, Mirliwa' (Major General) - mostly written in Ottoman Turkish - with some English translations, 1883-1887
- transcriptions of 3 letters/telegrams, 1883-1884: a memo from William Hicks, dated 25 Aug 1883, appointing de Coëtlogon as commander at Khartoum during the expedition to Khordofan; a note appointing "Cottgin Pasha" as Wakeal of the Equatorial Province, dated 18 Feb 1884; and a transcription of a telegram from C.G. Gordon to the British Minster in Cairo, relieving de Coetlogon of his post
– a note in Ottoman Turkish and Arabic script, dated 18 Feb 1884, appointing de Coëtlogon as Administrator of the Equator and Al-Ghazal Sea and Colonel Stewart as Acting Governor-General of Sudan
- a letter from Charles George Gordon to de Coëtlogon, dated 20 Feb 1884, advising him to leave Khartoum and return to Cairo
- a letter from J Barr? to de Coëtlogon, dated 15 Mar 1887, informing him that the Egyptian government no longer required his services
