The manuscript was written by Thierno Mountaga Taal (1914-2007). The author indicates he had received authorization to undertake the project from Saydu Nuru Taal (Senegal) and Shaykh Muhammad Hafiz bun Abdullahi al-Misriiyii Tijani (Egypt). From the original start date to the end, the writing took forty years to complete. According to an interview with the current guardian, the initial writing phase began in 1382/H (1962) and was completed in 1966. Then, the volume went through various editing, up to five times. According to the guardian, this was because the work required field research in various countries in West and North Africa. The manuscript is subdivided into chapter entries. Overall, the text portrays events around the birth, origins, childhood, education, and pilgrimage of Al Hajj Umar Taal to Mecca and his Jihad campaigns in West Africa. The manuscript describes how Umar Taal became acquainted with the Tijaniyya order and how he eventually became named a leader in it. It also described several miracles that Al Hajj Umar performed during his lifetime.
