The book records the admission of 283 women to the Lima Insane Asylum between 1915 and 1919. It includes personal information such as: nationality, age, marital status, profession, religion, education and race; also the date of admission to the hospice; in some cases the date of discharge; the patient's status as a pensioner or free patient; the institution that referred the patient and the names of the doctors who issued the medical certificate for admission. Also recorded are the medical history, in some cases the treatment given, the date of death and the cause of death. This book presents photographs of some of the patients who were in the hospice. The registers show the medical diagnoses of each patient, such as: systematised insanity, neurotic insanity (hysteria), toxic insanity (alcoholism), insanity of the degenerate, persecutory paranoia, acute mania, periodic insanity, persecutory paranoia, Sydenham's chorea, acute febrile delirium, epilepsy, dementia praecox, dementia praecox, chorea of Sydenham, acute febrile delirium, epilepsy, dementia praecox, imbecility, senile dementia, progressive general paralysis, melancholia, toxiphrenia, manic-depressive insanity, religious paranoia, idiocy, infectious insanity, epileptic psychosis. Among the institutions that referred patients are registered: Hospital de Santa Ana, the Police, Hospicio de Incurables, Hospital del Callao, Departmental Boards, Hospital Santa Teresa, Hospicio de Santa Teresa. It includes an index of names at the beginning of the book. The documentation recorded is related to the Statistical Book of the General Movement of the Insane Asylum. On the cover of the book we read Lima Insane Asylum. Women's Insane Asylum 1903. It has been identified that the book is missing three pages corresponding to folios 279, 280, 377, 378, 415 and 416.
El libro registra el ingreso de 283 mujeres al Manicomio de Lima entre los años de 1915 a 1919. Incluye información personal como: nacionalidad, edad, estado civil, profesión, religión, instrucción y la raza; además la fecha de ingreso al hospicio; en algunos casos la fecha de salida de alta del paciente; su condición de pensionista o de paciente gratuito; la institución que remite al paciente y los nombres de los doctores que emitían el certificado médico para su ingreso. También se haya registrado los antecedentes médicos, en algunos casos el tratamiento realizado, la fecha de defunción y la causa de la muerte. Este libro presenta fotografías de algunas de las pacientes que estuvieron en el hospicio. En los registros se observa los diagnósticos médicos de cada paciente como: locura sistematizada, locura neurótica (histeria), locura tóxica (Alcoholismo), locura de los degenerados, paranoia persecutoria, manía aguda, locura periódica, paranoia persecutoria, corea de Sydenham, delirio agudo febril, epilepsia, demencia precoz, imbecilidad, demencia senil, parálisis general progresiva, melancolía, toxifrenia, locura maniaco-depresiva, paranoia religiosa, idiocia, locura infecciosa, psicosis epiléptica. Entre las instituciones que remitían a los pacientes se encuentran registradas: Hospital de Santa Ana, la Policía, el Hospicio de Incurables, Hospital del Callao, Juntas Departamentales, Hospital Santa Teresa, Hospicio de Santa Teresa. Incluye índice onomástico al inicio del libro. La documentación que se registra mantiene relación con el Libro de Estadística del Movimiento General del Manicomio. En la tapa del libro se lee "Manicomio de Lima. Manicomio de Mujeres 1903". Se ha identificado que al libro le faltan tres hojas correspondiente a los folios 279, 280, 377, 378, 415 y 416.
