Variations on an original theme, op. 36, for orchestra. Proofs for the version for solo piano made by the composer and published by Novello & Co, 1899.
(1). ff. 1-47. Unbound set of proofs with the original ending to the piece, together with proofs of a further four pages, numbered 39-42, containing the revised ending. Only the latter pages contain annotations by the composer. A note by Ivor Atkins included with these proofs states that the pencil annotations in the main set of proofs, including additional harmony notes and suggestions of orchestration, are by him. Former references: PR74, 2000.34; 2011.262.
