Polemical treatise attacking the false premises of astrology, by Abū ‘Alī al-Ḥusayn ibn ‘Abd Allāh (أبو علي الحسين بن عبد الله), known as Ibn Sīnā (ابن سينا, latinised as Avicenna, d. 1037), ascribed in the present volume the title Risālah fī ibṭāl aḥkām al-nujūm (رسالة في إبطال أحكام النجوم, ff. 2r and 106v).
The preface mentions that the text was transmitted by Shaykh Abū al-ʿAzīz [ibn] Zaylah, from a copy in the hand of Abū Manṣūr [al-Ḥusayn Muḥammad] ibn Zaylah (أبو منصور الحسين بن محمد بن زيلة, d. 1048), a disciple of Ibn Sīnā (see below, f. 106v, lines 2-4).
