Risālah fī al-afʿāl wa-al-infiʿālāt رسالة في الأفعال والانفعالات
Avicenna ابن سينا
- Scope & Content:
-
Treatise on the mutual actions and passions of souls and objects uponeach other, incorporating the subjects of divine inspiration, dreams, and the occult sciences, by Abū ‘Alī al-Ḥusayn ibn ‘Abd Allāh (أبو علي الحسين بن عبد الله), known as Ibn Sīnā (ابن سينا, latinised as Avicenna, d. 1037).
The text appears to be composed of abstracts of another of Ibn Sīnā’s works, al-Birr wa-al-ithm (البر والاثم). In the present copy a former owner has added a note casting doubt on that, and attributing its origin to another, unknown work by Ibn Sīnā entitled Kitāb al-ʿazāʾim wa-al-ṭilasmāt (كتاب العزائم والطلسمات, f. 133v).
