Commentary by the scholar and judge (قاضي) of Constantine (قسنطينة, in mod. Algeria) Abū al-ʻAbbās Aḥmad ibn al-Ḥasan ibn ʻAlī ibn al-Khaṭīb (أبو العباس أحمد بن الحسن بن علي بن الخطيب, d. 1407), known as Ibn Qunfudh (ابن قنفذ) on the Didactic Poem on Astrological Judgments (أرجوزة في أحكام النجوم) by the astronomer of Kairouan (القيروان, in mod. Tunisia) Abū al-Ḥasan ʻAlī ibn Abī al-Rijāl (أبو الحسن علي ابن أبي الرجال, d. after 1037-8).
The commentary is dedicated to Abū ʻĪsá Abū Bakr ibn Abū Mujāhid Ghāzī (أبو عيسى أبو بكر ابن سيدنا الوزير أبو مجاهد غازي, see f. 255v, lines 8-15), vizier of the Marīnid sultans Abū Fāris (أبو فارس, reg 1366-72) and Abū Zayyān (أبو زيان, reg. 1372-74), and was completed at the end of Shawwāl 774/April 1373 (see author's colophon, f. ff. 311v, line 25-312r, line 1, transcribed below).
The text is preceded by a table of contents (f. 255r). There are horoscope diagrams on ff. 270v, 271v, 282r, 282v, 284v-286r, 306r, 310v, and 311r. The text is followed by a table listing correspondences and other astrological information about each of the seven planets (f. 312v).
The copy was completed on Wednesday 17 Rabīʻ II 1222/ 12 June 1807 by ʻAlī Faqīh ibn ʻAbd al-Raḥmān Bakhtiyārī (علي فقيه ابن عبد الرحمن بختياري, see scribe's colophon, f. 312r, lines 8-10, transcribed below).

قال أحمد بن حسين القنفذي القسطنطيني (!) أخذه الله بيده
الحمد لله الذي خلق الخلق بقدرته وميزهم بحكمته وكون الاشياء
فأحسن كونها ورفع السموات بغير عمد تدونها وصور النجوم
السيارة والأفلاك الدائرة وجعل فيها أيات للمتوسمين
Ends (f. 311v, lines 16-18):
وقال بعض العلماء ما أصعب منحسة المريخ إذا حسر عطارد
ويدل أيظًا (!) على الصواعق والبرد لأن الكاتب ممتزج فإذا قارن
النحس قوية دلالته والله أعلم بحكمة ...

... انتهى الغرض
في هذ (!) المجموع المبارك وجاء بحمد الله تعالى كافيًا شافيًا شاملًا

رتبتكم بمنه ويشغلنا (؟) باالنافع (!) لديه ويعينا عليه والسلام المبارك
