Some of the stories covered by the newspaper bear the following titles: The Millitary Secrets - Leakage of information, this was arisng out of the question put to the Secretary of State of War, Mr Hore Belisha by Mr Duncan Sandays a conservative member of the parliament of Norwood. Other stories are on anglo-German debts; Volunteers in Spain and their withdraw; Colonial Defences; palestine terrorism; european Refugees; Heavy Fighting in Manchukuo. The paper also has advertesments on various items such as transport, laser blades, clothes, building materials. This is a bound collection of newspaper published between July and December 1938. It contains news about attacks on British warships and artillery, Brief excerpts of news from around the world,sport bulletins including measures to control doping, financial statements of Banks, adverts of goods and services such as vehicles, agriculture news for various types of crops including crop harvest estimates and diseases, health and prevention of diseases for both humans and animals, native medicines, flight schedules from Blatyre to areas like Bulawayo, information on Jewish refugees settlements, ratification of agreement between Italy and London, entertainment news and puzzle games, public notices like dissolution of partnerships between companies and change of names, news on contents of national anthems from all over the wirld, updates on cost of living, news about landmark visits such as the prime minister Mr Chamberlain and his wife's tours to Germany and France,christmas celebration plans and carols, broadcasting schedules for radio programmes.
Extent: 1 bound volume of newspapers containing 428 pages.
Condition of original material: Some pages are torn, badly folded, are brittle and balck ink is fading.
Custodial history: The Material was published at Blantyre Newspapers Limited in Blantyre district in Malawi. The news papers were then collected, bounded in volumes and stored at the National Archives of Malawi repositories.
Arrangement: The material is arranged according to dates of creatoin.
