One of the stories is on the Gandhi's four peace mission in Eastern Bengal. It is stated that Mr Gandhi was accompanied only by his secretary and he planned to visit forty villages where disturbances have occurred between Hindus and Muslims. Another stody is on Britain's core mines, the story states a far reaching step that was taken on 5th January, 1947 when more than 15 hundred mines bcame state property. Another story is about palestine in which terrorists flog British Soldiers, other stories included: Outlook for Tobacco; fuel shortages in Europe, Debt to India (Britain owes India 1,200,000,000 british pounds); Colonial students' arrangments for university admission.
Extent: 1 bound volume of newspapers containing 530 pages.
Condition of original material: Some pages are torn, badly folded, are brittle and balck ink is fading.
Custodial history: The Material was published at Blantyre Newspapers Limited in Blantyre district in Malawi. The news papers were then collected, bounded in volumes and stored at the National Archives of Malawi repositories.
