This is a collection of newspapers published between Jan and June 1961. The collection contains local and international political news,sedition trial of Henry Chipembere who was MCPs treasurer general, religious issues, pirates in portugal, Railway developments, fashion news, agriculture, advertisements of goods and products, the visit of high profile people such as the queen mother to India, sports bulletins, festivities, land issues, short stories, economic news, entertainment, notices of marriage, death and personal notifications, job vacancies, post worldward stories, News about Dr H. Kamuzu Bandas visits, environmental issues, railway development and medical issues.
Extent: 1 bound volume of newspapers containing 580 pages.
Condition of original material: Some pages are torn, badly folded, are brittle and black ink is fading.
Custodial history: The Material was published at Blantyre Newspapers Limited in Blantyre district in Malawi. The news papers were then collected, bounded in volumes and stored at the National Archives of Malawi repositories.
Arrangement: The material is arranged according to dates of creatoin.
