The newspaper has a number of interesting stories, one of the stories is the fresh disturbances in Syria. It was reported that in Beirut State the clash between fresh troops and Syrians has taken place at an oil town in Northen of the Syria. Another interesting story covered is on the German Sadism in which the Execution chamber where the Germans beheaded or hanged 1078 Czech patriots, including 250 women was shown to a small party of visitors for the first time last week. The paper also carrried adverts on items such as the Nyasaland Railways, Lake service tme table; it also carried upcoming events at country club Limbe ( Saturday, August 11th 1945). One of the key stories is about Russia Joining allies. This was about a war between Russia and Japan. The paper also has a story titled Britain today - impact of the war it was stated that the purchasing of the consumer goods and services fell by 15 to 20 percent in Britain while in the United States and Canada it actually rose by 10 to 15 percent. On the African scene, one of the stories covered in the paper is on Kenya colony whereby the legislative council of Kenya began its budget session on 6th November in the absence of Governor Sir phillip mitchell who was in London discussing various East African problems with the colonial secretary.
Extent: 1 bound volume of newspapers containing 848 pages.
Condition of original material: Some pages are torn, badly folded, are brittle and balck ink is fading.
Custodial history: The Material was published at Blantyre Newspapers Limited in Blantyre district in Malawi. The news papers were then collected, bounded in volumes and stored at the National Archives of Malawi repositories.
