Nkhani Za Dowa of 1958 was sold at 2 pence, the stories were English, Cinyanja and Ciyao. Right on the front page the paper had advertsement of M.M Chinura and I.J Miya selling various items such as gramaphone, gramaphone spare parts, guitars, watches, films, Cameras, Shirts, Jackets and Trousers. The paper also has interesting stories such as the Native Authority Kaligondo kills a Lion. In summary, the Native Authority was on his way to the farm in the morning hours on 20th december, 1957 when he suddenly met a lion that wanted to attack him. Fortunately, he had a gun with him and he shot the lion four times.
