(1). Two dyeline autograph full scores (pp. 1-30) bound in soft red covers. Universal Edition 12949. One copy stamped 'Hire Library Universal Edition'. Both unmarked. At the end of the score, within the copy: 'III Mvt finished 25 June 62. Revised 16 Nov 62'. Also noted within the copy on the final page: 'First performed by the Dartington String Quartet in Cheltenham Town Hall on Thursday 5 July 1962'. Noted on title-page: 'Commissioned by the BBC for the 1962 Cheltenham Festival'. The Quartet is dedicated to the Dartington String Quartet (p. 1).
(2). Unbound dyeline autograph full score (pp. 1-28). Rehearsal letters in red pencil, annotated with revised score in pencil. Also noted in pencil, at the foot of the final page, details of three performances in 1962: 5 July (Town Hall Cheltenham); 2 August (Courtauld Institute Galleries); 6 August (Dartington Summer School).
(3). Movement III. Scored in black ink, stamped 'BBC Music Library' on front page (1 bifolium).
(4). Draft music, scored in pencil. Includes 'Plan' and 'Revision of Scherzo'. One page dated 'Tuesday 20 Feb' [1962] and 'Sat 3 March' [1962]. Extent: 4 folios and 5 bifolia.
