Record of an alchemical dream vision by the Seljuq chancellor (صاحب ديوان الإنشاء) and vizier, poet and alchemist Muʼayyad al-Dīn Abū Ismāʻīl al-Ḥusayn ibn ʻAlī al-Ṭughrāʼī (مؤيد الدين أبو إسماعيل الحسين بن علي الطغرائي, d. 1121).
The text is preceded by a brief preface (f. 160v, lines 2-4, transcribed below) in which a scribe earlier in the manuscript tradition claims that he found, on the flyleaf (ظهر) of the authorial holograph from which he copied, a note by al-Ṭughrāʼī himself providing some context for the dream described in the text: 'I saw [this dream] in the year during which I was in Balkh in the month of Ramaḍān. The Book of Mercy by Jābir ibn Ḥayyān - God have mercy upon him - was brought to me there, and I had been contemplating it but could not figure out its meanings' (see f. 160v, lines 3-4, transcribed below).
If this note is historically accurate, and the preface was written by the same scribe who was reported in the colophon to item 5 (see f. 182r, lines 7-12) as having produced his copy in 738/1338 of an authorial holograph completed in Rabīʻ I 512/June-July 1118, then the year al-Ṭughrāʼī was in Balkh in Ramaḍān must have been 511/1117-18 or before.

هذا الكلام رأيت في السنة التي كنت فيها ببلخ في شهر رمضان وقد حُمِلَ إليّ هناك كتاب الرحمة
لجابر بن حيان رحمه الله وكنت أتأمله ولا أقف على معانيه قال رأيت في المنام رسول
الله صلى الله عليه وسلم على نشز من الأرض فقصدته وبدأته بالسلام فأجاب ثم قال يا فتى هل
أنت آخذًا مني علمًا بحقه يرفع الله به ذكرك ويعظم أجرك ...
