Didactic poem (أرجوزة) on differences (خلافيات) in legal opinions between major imāms by the Seljuq Ḥanafī jurist (فقيه) Najm al-Dīn Abū Ḥafṣ ʻUmar ibn Muḥammad ibn Aḥmad al-Māturīdī al-Nasafī (نجم الدين أبو حفص عمر بن محمد بن أحمد الماتريدي النسفي, d. 1142).

The author calls the poem, which is said to contain 2,666 verses (أبيات), The Book on Differences (كتاب في الخلافيات), and he completed its composition on the middle Saturday [16] Ṣafar 504/[3] September 1110 (see ff. 286v, line 6 and 375v, lines 11-14, transcribed below).

باسم الإله رب كل عبد والحمد لله ولي الحمد

وبعد قد قال أبو حفص عمر يرحمه الله وعقباه عمر

Ends (f. 375v, lines 9-18):

قد انتهى نظم الخلافيات والحمد لله على الحالات

ثم الصلوة والسلام أبدا على النبي الهاشمي سرمدا

وصاحب النظم أبو حفص عمر من نسف أتم هذا في صفر

للنصف يوم السبت وقت التغذيه في سنة الأربع والخمسمائه

وجملة الأبيات يا صدر ألفيه ألفان والستون والستمائه

وستة والله يجزي ناظمه

جنان عدن وقصورًا ناعمه
