For SATB chorus. Composed for the Chester Book of Carols. First performed by the Cambridge University Chamber Choir in Trinity College Chapel, 27 November 1986. Text: Dick Davis.
(1). Text: 'A Christmas Poem' by Dick Davis. Two typed texts (identical save for the lineation of the final line of each stanza). One text is annotated (within the copy): 'Written for the 1982 Carol Service of Nene College, Northampton'. The other text has been annotated (in pencil) in Hangul [Korean].
(2). Fair copy autograph pencil score for SATB chorus, dated at the head of each of the four folios: '14 December 1984' (250 x 365 mm). The score is dedicated 'for Alix'.
(3). Photocopy of the above fair copy score, annotated for engraving (4 folios: 260 x 360 mm).
(4). Piano reduction:
- Fair copy piano reduction scored in pencil, dated '14 Dec 1984'. Scored on the inner two pages of a bifolium (295 x 420 mm). The outer front page contains the opening line of Wood's setting of 'Home from Abroad' by Laurie Lee (for comparison, see Op. 25), begun in black ink (struck-through in red pencil) and continued for several bars in draft pencil.
- Photocopy of the above fair copy autograph reduction, annotated 'Piano (for rehearsal only)'. 2 folios (295 x 415 mm).
