- Autograph full score in pencil, pp. 9-12, i.e. showing original 'Variation V' before revision of 1 April 1991;
- Photocopy of autograph full score, pp. 1-13 and 15-16 only (lacking p. 14). Showing original 'Variation V' before revision.
(4). Movement III. Photocopy (incomplete) of autograph full score, pp. 1-19 only. First page annotated in red ink: '1st version to p. 19'. Annotated throughout in red ink.

Commissioned by the BBC for the 1991 Henry Wood Promenade Concerts. First performed on 10 September 1991 at the Royal Albert Hall, London, by Joanna MacGregor (piano) and the BBC Symphony Orchestra conducted by Andrew Davis.
