Treatise on mental arithmetic by ʻIzz al-Dīn Abū al-Faḍāʼil ʻAbd al-Wahhāb ibn Ibrāhīm ibn ʻAbd al-Wahhāb ibn Abū al-Maʻālī al-Khazrajī al-Zanjānī (عز الدين أبو الفضائل عبد الوهاب بن إبراهيم بن عبد الوهاب بن أبو المعالي الخزرجي الزنجاني, fl. mid-13th century). The treatise is sometimes found in the manuscripts under the titles The ʻIzzian Treatise on Mental Calculation (الرسالة العزية في الحساب الهوائية) and The Yemeni Treatise (الرسالة اليمنية). At the end of the treatise, the author mentions that the present work is an abridgement of his more complete text on the subject, the Sea of Useful Notes on Arithmetic and Principals (بحر الفوائد في علم الحساب والقواعد, see f. 96r, line 6, transcribed below).
The copy was completed at Baghdad on 9 Jumādá I 751/15 July 1350 (see colophon, f. 96r, lines 7-10, transcribed below). Although he does not name himself here, the scribe is recognisable as Abū al-Muẓaffar Muḥammad ibn Muḥammadshāh al-Tafrishī (أبو المظفر محمد بن محمدشاه التفرشي, see colophons ff. 21r, 43v, 87r, 96r and 136r).
The treatise is divided into twelve sections (فصول):
Section one: Knowing [the definitions of] calculation, number, ranks and the [nine] digits (الفصل الأول في معرفة الحساب والعدد والمراتب والعقود, f. 88v);
Section two: The principals of calculation, which are three: multiplication, division and ratio (الفصل الثاني في أصول الحساب وهي ثلثة الضرب والقسمة والنسبة, ff. 88v-90r);
Section three: Fractions (الفصل الثالث في الكسور, ff. 90r-90v);
Section four: Division (الفصل الرابع في القسمة, ff. 90v-91r);
Section five: Dividing fractions by fractions (الفصل الخامس في قسمة الكسور على الكسور, ff. 91r-91v);
Section six: Ratio (الفصل السادس في النسبة, ff. 91v-92v);
Section seven: Denominators (الفصل السابع في المخارج, ff. 92v-93r);
Section eight: Balance (الفصل الثامن في الميزان, f. 93r);
Section nine: Proportional numbers (الفصل التاسع في الأعداد المتناسبة, ff. 93r-94v);
Section ten: Adding numbers (الفصل العاشر في جمع الأعداد, f. 94v);
Section eleven: Discovering a hidden [number] (الفصل الحادي عشر في استخراج المضمر, ff. 94v-95v);
Section twelve: The double false [position] (الفصل الثاني عشر في الخطأين, ff. 95v-96r).

الحمد لله رب العالمين والصلوة والسلم
على خير خلقه محمد وآله الطاهرين وبعد فهذه رسالة في قواعد الحساب
حررتها على سبيل الاختصار ورتبتها على فصول وسميتها بالرسالة العزية
Ends (f. 96r, lines 4-7):
... وهذا آخر ما قصدنا اختصاره فإن مسائل الحساب
في كل باب كثيرة وهذه الرسالة لا تحتمل البسط فمن أراد زيادة في كل باب
فليرجع إلى بحر الفوائد في علم الحساب والقواعد والله أعلم بالصواب
