Commissioned by the Milton Keynes City Orchestra. First performed 23 January 2009 at Milton Keynes Theatre by Alexandra Wood (violin) and the Milton Keynes City Orchestra, conducted by Sian Edwards.
Wood substantially revised (and cut) the Concerto in 2008, prior to its premiere. For the entire original score (2003-04) see MS Mus. 1893/2/84. This file comprises three versions of Movement I: a revised photocopy of the 2003 full score; a full score dated July 2008; and a short score dated November 2008:
(1). Movement I (2003). Title-page and pp. 1-38 (420 x 295 mm). Photocopy autograph full score, annotated in pencil throughout; pp. 27-30 have been struck-through.
(2). Movement I (July 2008). Full score in pencil. Title-page and pp. 1-10, 12-24, 26-32 (numbered by the composer). Lacking notional pp. 11 and 25 (a pencil note at the head of pp. 12 and 26 indicates that a cadenzas are to be played at these two places). Dated at the end of the score: 20 July 2008. Paper size: 325 x 470 mm (nested bifolia).
(3). Movement I (November 2008). Short score in pencil: pp. 1-4, 6-12, 14-18 (numbered by the composer). Dated at the end of the score: 23 November 2008. Paper size: 250 x 365 mm.
