Commissioned by the Milton Keynes City Orchestra. First performed 23 January 2009 at Milton Keynes Theatre by Alexandra Wood (violin) and the Milton Keynes City Orchestra, conducted by Sian Edwards.
Wood substantially revised (and cut) the Concerto in 2008, prior to its premiere. For the entire original score (2003-04) see MS Mus. 1893/2/84. This file comprises:
(1). Heavily revised photocopy of 2003-04 full score, identified on title-page as 'abandoned pages in IIIrd mvt' (red ink). The pages as originally numbered within the copy are: 1, 2, 4, 5, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24, 25, a half page (original bars 230-235), 30, 31, 32, 37, 38, 39, 40, 41, 42, 43, 44, 45.
(2). Draft revised full score in pencil, pp. 1-31 (420 x 295 mm). Each page designated 'New Page':
- 'new' pages 6-9 are photocopies of the earlier score, with additional score in pencil, and marked 'OK';
- 'new page 13' comprises two photocopy half sheets of the earlier score joined together – marked 'OK';
- 'new' pages 19-21 also comprise photocopy half sheets of the earlier score joined together, additional score in pencil;
- 'new' pages 24-27 are photocopies with additional score in pencil;
- 'new' pages' 28-31 are dated 23 September 2008.
(3). Fair copy full score in pencil, title-page and pp. 1-37, dated 16 October 2008 at the end of the score. 12 nested bifolia (300 x 420 mm).
