• Leavis to March (Scrutiny letterhead, Cambridge, 25 April, 1936), sorry not to have thought of offering a book by [Herbert] Read to March for review ('it was so very bad');
• Leavis to March (Scrutiny letterhead, Cambridge, 4 January, 1938): 'Yes, please do write that article';
• Leavis to March (Cambridge, 26 February, [1938]);
• Leavis to March (as from Cambridge, 5 July, [1938]), with comments on an issue of the journal Purpose that a 'pupil' had shown him ('I can't think with pleasure of Eliot'), comments on Dartington Hall ('we modified some of our prejudices about the educational side'), and looking forwards to seeing March and wife in August;
• Leavis to March (Scrutiny letterhead, Cambridge, 16 March, 1939), commenting more expansively on Dartington Hall;
• Leavis to March (Scrutiny letterhead, Cambridge, 24 June, 1939), congratulating March on the birth of his daughter ('We ourselves are expecting the addition to the family at the end of August'), and noting that a volume of Rilke translations would have been offered to March for review but was not received from the publishers ('the Hogarth people don't like us') [for a prior review, see March on Rilke, Scrutiny, 7:2 (September, 1938)];
