A letter from Robert Cowan, Chief at Mocha, to the Court of Directors of the East India Company, dated 5 August 1725, and signed by Cowan.
Cowan complains about impositions on trade imposed by the Government, in the form of the Emaum [Imam], the Vizier, the Governor of Mocha, and the Imam’s agent. Cowan urges the Company to take forceful action against the Government.
The letter was received via the ship Greenwich, 24 May 1726, and read in the Court of Directors on 25 May 1726.
