- Three estates in Houndsditch and Woolpack Alley purchased in order to widen the passages from Houndsditch through Cutler Street, Woolpack Alley etc into Gravel Lane, forming a new cartway to the Company warehouses. (a) An estate consisting of three timber tenements with a cart house and stable on the north side of Houndsditch to the west of Woolpack Alley, the freehold of which was purchased about Christmas 1793 from Mr Knowles for £900. The assignment of a lease on the property was purchased from George Dominicus in April 1801 for £33 10s. The Company sold this property by auction in May 1808. (b) Part of a house at the north end of Woolpack Alley and on the east side of the passage leading in 1795 to the Company's warehouse in Gravel Lane. A lease for 99 years commencing at Christmas 1804 was purchased by the East India Company in July 1796 from the Cutlers' Company for £500. Joseph Read's interest in the estate was purchased for £262 10s in January 1795, and Edmond Preston's for £25 and £42 in November 1798. (c) Six tenements partly situated on the east side of the passage leading in 1795 from Woolpack Alley to the Company's warehouse in Gravel Lane and partly on the south side of Gravel Lane purchased in 1793 from Moses Adams for £800.
