The collection consists of papers forwarded with the Government of India Foreign Department's letter Political No. 165 of 22 November 1865 (dated as 23 November on the cover sheet for the collection) to the Secretary of State for India, received 27 December 1865, on the subject of differences between the Imam [Imām] of Muscat, Syud Thoweynee [Sayyid Thuwaynī bin Sa‘īd Āl Bū Sa‘īd], and the Ameer of the Wahabees [Amīr of the Wahhābīs], Fysul bin Sa-ood [Fayṣal bin Turkī bin ‘Abdullāh Āl Sa‘ūd, Amīr of Najd], which could possibly lead to hostilities between the two powers.
