- This item is a collection to India Political Despatch No. 1 of 6 January 1869, from the Secretary of State for India to the Government of India Foreign Department (the Political Despatch itself is not included in this item). The collection consists of papers forwarded with the Government of India Foreign Department Letter Political No. 187 of 14 August 1868 to the Secretary of State for India (received 27 September 1868). The papers concern the breach of the maritime truce and the penalisation of Sheikh Mohamed bin Khaleefa [Muḥammad bin Khalīfah Āl Khalīfah], Ruler of Bahrain, and Sheikh Saeed bin Khaleefa [Zāyid bin Khalīfah Āl Nahyān], Ruler of Aboodabhabee [Abu Dhabi]. Also mentioned is the attack by tribes from Guttar [Qatar] on Bahrein [Bahrain]. In addition, the item mentions the goods shipped to Bahrein with a list. The collection was compiled for information purposes for the Secretary of State for India to compose the answering Political Despatch.
