- This item contains papers on the construction and operation of the Khanikin [Khanaqin]-Hamadan-Enzeli [Anzali] Road, British Government expenditures toward its maintenance, and the desire of Richards, Thynne & Company Limited [Richards, Thynne & Co Ltd] to obtain a concession for motor transport in Persia [Iran]. It includes material relating to:
- The Russian Road Company’s control of the roads between Enzeli-Kazvin [Qazvin]-Hamadan and Kazvin-Teheran [Tehran], the privileges granted to Khostaria [Akaki Khoshtaria], and whether the Persian Government regards them in the same light as his mining concession
- The possibility that the Lynch Brothers could obtain the concession instead of Richards, Thynne & Co Ltd
- The draft concession for the ‘exclusive mechanical transport service of goods, materials, merchandise and passengers’
- The negotiations between Richards, Thynne & Co Ltd and the Persian Minister for Foreign Affairs, Fīrūz Mīrzā [Farmānfarmā, later Fīrūz Mīrzā Fīrūz, Nuṣrat al-Dawlah] for a road concession
- The description of the roads from Quraitu [Qoratu] to Sermil [Sarmil], Mahidasht, Kirmanshah [Kermanshah], Bisitun [Bisotun], Sahneh, Kangavar, Rahmatabad, Asadabad, Top of Pass [?], To Vangi Khan [?] and Hamadan; Kangavar to Hosainabad [Hosseinabad] and Hamadan; Hamadan to Enzeli; and Kasvin [Qazvin] to Teheran.
