- The election of the first Mosul Municipal Council and its first meeting on 13 July 1920 that highlighted the following issues as being of interest: the limited support of the Chaldean and Syrian [Assyrian Christian] communities for the election of a councillor of Jacobite or West Syrian origins, interpreted as an unexpected indication of good relations between Christians and Muslims
- The election of Muhammad 'Ali Fadhli [Muḥammad ʿAlī Faḍlī Effendī; also referred to as Mohammed Ali Fadhli Effendi] as the Mayor of Mosul, his reputation and views.
