- Scope & Content:
- Documents relating to the Prince of Wales' 1805 offer of a house to the Committee of the Literary Fund. Primarily by the founder, David Williams, these include notes, reports, minutes, the text of the Prince's offer and correspondence with Thomas Pelham, Earl of Chichester, who facilitated the Fund's connection with the Prince of Wales. The file also includes two copies of a printed flyer soliciting donations for a House Fund, a later letter from Benjamin Hobhouse to Chichester (9 Aug 1816), a transcription from a memoir of Chichester taken by Richard Yates and a letter from Bingham Richards to Octavian Blewitt on the Fund's house (28 Feb 1850).
