1. De taxone (ff. 58r-58v). The text belongs to the β branch of the tradition. Rubric (f. 58r): 'Incipit Epystola de bestiola quam / aliqui melem vocant. Quidam ve/ro Taxonem. A Rege egyptiorum / Octaviano missa', incipit: 'Rex egyptiorum Octaviano au/gusto salutem. Plurimis exem/plis expertus sum victoriam tuam / et prudentiam', explicit (f. 58v): 'exercitibus tuis non erit / periculum prodest adversus pestem qua barbari infertur'. Edited in Howald and Sigerist 1927, pp. 229-32.

Prima eius cura', table of contents, incipit: '[A]d humores ex/siccandos omnes / [A]d dentes qui / moventur', explicit: (f. 62r) 'Incipi/unt capitula / de Jrundine … [A]d sanandum / lingue uulne/ra omnia et vi/cia labiorum', rubric: 'Explicit / capitula / libri medi/cine Pla/cidi actoris / ex animali/bus peco/ribus bestijs/que et avibus', rubric (f. 62v) 'Prima cura ipsius ad exsic/candum universos pessimos hu/mores', text incipit: 'Cervinum cornu habet / vires ad exsiccandos', explicit (f. 78v) 'Incipiunt vir/tutes de yrun/dine … et vul/neribus lingue vel labiorum appone / valet mirifice', rubric 'Liber medici/ne Sexti Placiti ex ani/malibus pecoribus et / avibus. Edited in Howald and Sigerist 1927, pp. 235-86. The present copy is listed in Thorndike and Kibre 1968, p. 202c; no. 202C.
