- Title:
- Pseudo-Galen, De urinis
- Scope & Content:
The text, which includes and ends with an embedded text relating to diagnosis and prognosis through urine examination, was published from this manuscript in Leisinger 1925. It is listed in L. Thorndike and P. Kibre, Catalogue of Incipits of Medieval Scientific Writings in Latin, rev. edn. (London, 1963; The Mediaeval Academy of America Publication, 29; with supplements in 1965 and 1968); p. 1621l; its electronic edition (Ann Arbor, MI, 2000), no. 1621L. See also G. Winter, 'Zur Wirkungsgeschichte des frühmittelalterlichen Harnregelnkatalogs' (Unpublished doctoral disseration, Würzburg, 1982), p. 37f.
Also includes Prognostica urinarum, excerpt from Curae quae ex hominibus fiunt (ff. 63v-64r). The text is a copy of the second chapter from a late antique text on medical remedies. The present copy lacks the title 'Prognostica urinarum haec sunt quae in aegrotis vitam aut mortem adfuturam denuntiant' found before this portion in other exemplars of the complete text.
