- The letter regards the punishment of the individuals that have insulted John Williams, the Resident's assistant. It notes that the Prince at Shiraz has delayed this punishment as he is en-route to the court at Tehran and he is taking the culprits with him. Enclosed is a translation of a firmaun [firman] from His Royal Highness Hossain Aly Merza [Ḥusayn ‘Alī Mīrzā], Prince of Shiraz, received at Bushire 6 April 1818.

- Condition: The letter has suffered from pest damage, which has obscured much of the address of the letter. However, it is still possible to make out the name of the individual the letter is addressed to. There are also two large holes in the fabric of the second folio, which mean the text in this area difficult to read.
