- In this letter Samuel Hennell thanks Arnold Burrowes Kemball for his despatch dated 23 April 1850 (see ff 5-7), which announced the appointment of Maashook Pasha to the Government of Bussorah [Basra], and for bringing to his notice his suspicions regarding the Pasha's plans relating to the Arabian shores.
