Letter enclosing correspondence between the Residency Surgeon and Pelly with regards to granting bills of health and citing letter No.131 of 18 January 1872 which laid down rules for the Residency Surgeon to examine a ships crew to ensure that any epidemics being suffered at ports had not been passed on to the vessel and its crew.
A postscript to the letter dated 21 November 1872 reports that the Assistant Residents at Bushire had received further complaints regarding the Residency Surgeon.
