The seated Maharaja, Jayaji Rao Sindhia, is surrounded by Gwalior State officials. This photograph is most probably by Bourne & Shepherd as a portrait of the Maharaja taken in the same sitting appears in Wheeler's History of the Imperial Assemblage at Delhi (London [1877]) in which the majority of prints are attributed to the firm.
