View of the facade. Listed in Bloch's 'List of photographic negatives of ancient buildings, statues and inscriptions belonging to the India Office', London (Calcutta 1900), Serial No. 393. Also described in E. D.Lyon's 'Notes to accompany a series of photographs designed to illustrate the ancient architecture of Western India' (Geneva, 1871) [IOL W4875]. 562. - Shows a front view of the small mosque. Its length is 54 ft including the minarets and its breadth 20 ft, height of minarets 50 ft. Mr Briggs [?Biggs] considers this the handsomest mosque in the city, and Mr Ferguson after stating that the minarets of the mosques of Ahmedabad are the only ones which surpass those of Cairo, goes on to say that that of Ranee Seepree is the most exquisite gem of all both in plan and detail, every part being such as only a Hindu Queen could order and Hindu artists execute.
