Photograph of Cave 19 at Ajanta. This cave contains a very well executed chaitya hall. The facade is dominated by a large horseshoe-shaped arched window. The interior is very elaborate and is divided into three aisles by two rows of columns. These have capitals adorned by Buddha figures, flying couples, musicians and hermits. The votive stupa at the end has a Buddha image in front standing in a niche beneath an arch.The ceilings has paintings of floral motifs and animals.
